Make the
journey to Skye part of your holiday experience, because, wherever you
travel from and whatever your method of transport, the scenery on the
way is just spectacular. Give yourself plenty of time and just enjoy
the ride!
Whether
you choose public transport to get here or
drive yourself, we are happy to give advice
on the routes available to you!
The ferries
allow you to travel “over the sea to Skye”
and although we highly recommend doing at least one ferry crossing during
your visit, don’t let it put you off using the Skye Bridge! The
view pictured above is taken from the Bridge looking down on to Kyleakin.
Crossing the Bridge used to cost around £5-£6 each way,
but happily the toll has now been removed and you can come and go as
often as you want - FREE ACCESS TO AND FROM THE MAINLAND - enabling
our guests to easily tour Plockton, Loch Carron, Eilean Donan Castle,
Glenelg & Applecross and much more!

When using
public transport to get to the White Heather, there are several options
open to you for touring the area once here: the local
bus services or the local taxi/car hire companies,
which are based in Kyle and Kyleakin - making them extremely convenient!
If you want to hire a mountain bike in Kyleakin then go to the taxi/car
hire page mentioned above.
If you
still have queries after browsing through the transport pages here,
then please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we’ll try
to help further in your travel plans. Otherwise, contact numbers &
web links for all the transport companies are provided on this main
page for your convenience. Have a safe and enjoyable journey!
